English 12 - Our Mythological Heritage: 1. Recommended Resources

Archetypes in Literature & Popular Culture Project

About this Project

Choose an archetype from the list of options provided on your handout.  You will offer a short paper (900 words    MAXIMUM) and a 15 minute presentation to the class which explains how your archetype is reflected in texts      you have found or encountered (print or visual media) across time, and how it develops as the centuries unfold.    You should go as far back as you can (preferably to classical Greece and Rome), offer a Shakespearean version of   your archetype, and also bring the discussion right up to date with contemporary versions.
